Chateau d’Orquevaux has been an amazing place to nurture my creativity, connect with other artists and writers, and to develop as an artist. The chateau itself is simply stunning, with so many thoughtful details that made my stay comfortable and peaceful.  Meals were superb and absolutely delicious. -Stephanie Madsen

RESIDENCE | STUDIOS 

There are 16 bedrooms available at Chateau d'Orquevaux for the Retreats.

There are 2 Gatehouses on the property.

There are 4 fully renovated Guesthouses in Orquevaux Village.

In the center of Orquevaux village, (population 75ish) is the Main Gate to the chateau.

There are 6 full baths for guests. The bathrooms are semi-private and shared.

Towels and linens are provided.

Housekeeping is also provided.

There are laundry facilities available. 

Common areas in chateau include Salons, Dining room, Kitchen and the overall property.

The stables and Chateau include artist studios which are available to artists.

The Chateau and all bedrooms have WiFi. 

The Chateau €5,950 provides 10 private bedrooms and 4 "Emerging artist  bedrooms" €5,450. There are also 2 Small Bedrooms one with private toilet and one ensuite available €6,500. Most bedrooms in chateau share bathrooms/baths. There are shared living spaces, shared kitchen, laundry rooms and 4 full baths.  Full amenities include housekeeping with linens and towels provided. The main Chateau also includes 10 studios which are normally reserved for the guesthouses. The Chateau also has WiFi and is a 2 minute walk to the stable studios, Orquevaux village and the guesthouses which are in the village. 

Emerging Artist Quarters| Quartiers des Artistes Émergents €5,450  Located on the top floor of the chateau in what was historically the staff quarters are 4 bedrooms that are now considered the emerging artists area. The private salon which is reserved for the top floor features the best view of the property from the 3 large Juliet balcony windows. There are also a newly renovated shared bathroom facilities. The bedrooms are smaller then other bedrooms in the chateau. One bedroom which is large in comparison to the other 3 is reserved when there is an emerging artist couple or collaborative team in residence. We also have 2 additional Emerging Artist bedrooms on the second floor. 

The Studios | les Ateliers (Included) The Studios are located on the 3rd floor of chateau and the stables. and provide large ample space for artists to create indoors with plenty of storage for supplies. Studio spaces in the stable also open out onto the stable courtyard and open vistas. The entire property is available for artists to set up plein air "studios" with a plethora of choices from hilltop views of the village, cathedral, petite castle, open meadows and fields and areas around the lake and boathouse. There is no limit for inspiration on the property and artist studios of Chateau d'Orqueveaux. 

GUEST-HOUSES

La Maison de Jojo | Jojo's House (€5,450)   is a 2 bedroom house located in Orquevaux village. The Guesthouse which was built in the late 1800's is equipped with WiFi and laundry room. The house is a couple of hundred feet outside the main entrance and is used by the Artists-in-Residence that may have different needs such as family, pets or reasons to be determined. The guesthouse can be requested and its use is determined upon availability.

La Maison de la Vigne  | The Grapevine House (Ensuite €5,950 Single | €10,500 Couple)  The Grape Vine House is a 3 bedroom house located in Orquevaux village. The Guesthouse which was built in the late 1800's is equipped with WiFi etc, the house is a couple of hundred feet outside the main entrance and is used by the Artists-in-Residence that may have different needs such as family, pets or reasons to be determined. 

La Maison du Jardinier | The Gardner's House (Couple or Single €10,500) is a charming, private 1 bedroom house with WiFi and all the amenities for a single artist or a couple.  The Guesthouse is located in Orquevaux village and was built in the mid 1800's. The Guesthouse is a 2 minute walk from the Main entrance of the chateau.

La Maison du Concierge | The Main Gatehouse (Couple €10,500 each)   The Gatehouse is an independent house situated on the property by the front gate which includes 2 ensuite bedrooms on separate floors including a shared kitchen and laundry. The house includes linens and towels. The guest house also has full WiFi and is in close proximity to the artist studios in the stables.

La Maison des Artistes | The Artists House is an 8 bedroom 8 bath guesthouse located in Orquevaux village. The Chateau Guesthouse which features a private courtyard and backyard was built in 1846 and is equipped with WiFi and laundry room. The house is a couple of hundred feet outside the main entrance and (will be) used for artists-in-residence during the season. It also may be occupied by artists that may have specific needs. The guesthouse can be requested and its use is determined upon availability.

La Maison du Verger | The Orchardist House has 2 bedrooms and a writing studio. The Gatehouse was originally for the caretaker of the orchard and livestock. It is located by The Kennel and comes with plenty of love from the goats and all the eggs the artists will get from the chickens.
